Windows Vista problem

    I'm having an unusual problem in Vista, wheneevr I try to install something new i get "this is not a valid win32 application" or similar. I have no idea why this is happening but no installation files are working and it won't let me install from a cd either???

    any one have any ideas, sorry if ive been a bit vague!
