What did the kid next door have that you always wanted....?You know the guy I am talking about the snotty nosed little brat who did not appreciate his toys.

    This is mine....

For anybody who did not grow up in the 80s this was Manta Force ship,a fine piece of kit that I never got a chance to own.The ship was designed to work in any environment. On Land, Sea and Air. The engines are fueled by a substance called Thorium.Class.

There was a kid down the road from me and rumor had it that he had all the star wars figures and ships available, that was the main thing I can remember wanting.

I feel your pain, Ruu. The annoying little runt who lived next door wouldn't let me or any of the other kids on the road play with his soda stream. Asked my folks for one but they said it was a total waste of money :(

I just played in cardboard boxed. Best forts I ever had! Probably need planning permission now for them. Stupid 90s/00s

I had the big yellow teapot. Was it the one that had windows in it and opened up to be a house? It was awesome. So awesome, that when my parents threw it out recently someone stole it out of the skip!

Duplo bricks. Always wanted them even when I was 9 or 10. I remember our neighbours always got everything they wanted. On xmas morning we used to go next door and I'm not kidding the room was covered iin toys. No expense spared. It was great 1 xmas though. I can barely remember it but my brother got this star wars ship thingy. It was white and had flashing red lights and made noise I think. The neighbour his age was so jealous(made a change) But of course within a few weeks he had one. No kidding
Oh kerplunk always wanted that. Neighbours got this wonderful barbie house I wanted too. It was around the time sindy was being replaced by barbie and of course I only had hand me down sindy stuff and a house that my sis and her hubby made from leftover stuff from their own house. my mum still laughs when she tells the story of how amazing I thought that santa and my sis had the same taste in curtains and carpet.

When I was about 4 my next door neighbour had one of those vanity tables with a mirror and fake lipstick and perfume and everything, I wanted one :( My friend four doors up also had a massive plastic carrier bag full to the brim with Barbies and Barbie accessories, she even had all 5 Spice Girls! I had my sister's old barbies from the 80s!
No one I knew had it, but the thing I wanted most as a child was an easel in a toy store, I think it was the Early Learning Centre. The easel was 21 pounds, expensive! I wanted it for aaaaaages, but never got it. :(

I'm one of four boys so between us we had all the Manta Force and MASK stuff, haven't seen any of it in ages but I think it's still all in the attic! Might go have a rout around up there and revisit the 80's!

The one that always got me was the kid around the corner who had a snes with Mario Kart. He'd never let anyone else play it either. Bastard.

We had to rent one (all we had was a Master System), used to get it for a weekend from the video shop. :)

Other people always had better MASK stuff than me...There I was with my crappy Gator and Condor, when my mates had the helicoptor whose name escapes me. Though I had the last laugh when I got Boulder Hill. Also, I asked for an Atari 2600 one Christmas, boy was I happy when my mother somehow found out how **** they were and bought me a Sega Master system instead. Alex Kidd FTW!

    Just get them refilled!

My mate had terrapins. Not the yokes you got in kinder surprise (Although I wanted them too). I so wanted a terrapin. I even made a 'snail farm/prison' to feed it, if I got one. The fcukers climbed over the walls of my farm/prison when I wasnt looking! Think I was dropped as a child...

The MASK toys... never even got the little green motorbike/helicopter one :(

God I must have been one of those spoiled kids, the brother had the Manta force ship thing, and I had the a la carte kitchen, the care bear and the big yellow tea pot.

I really wanted mr Frosty though...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 28 eviecarwash

I wanted that a La carte Kitchen throughout my entire childhood (and possibly early teens, but we'll say nothing..) I saw it in the Argos catalouge but at the time there was only an Argos up North. I begged my mother to go up to Newry but eh, no..!!:o
