Ive been reading a few posts tonight about people and salary reviews who are in IT. I would suggest they should up sticks and go contracting in London, then see what they think of rates here. :)

I do this for about 1 year out of every 3.
I like living in Ireland so i come home and work here after putting plenty of dosh in the bank from London.

Does anyone else here do this?

Im thinking of going for a few months in the middle east now though.

How did you get started in that line of work. I am going to graduate soon from a computer science degree, would a graduate get good money in that line of work. I am looking to be a systems analyst and not looking to write code. Databases and SQL would be ok though. Requirements and testing would be the best. Thanks

I would say you need to have a few years commercial experience behind you to get into contracting. Agencies are a good start for when you graduates.Ideally though you should be looking at impressing the company you do your work experience with and then using the contacts you make there to get you on your way.

getting yourself involved in the milk-round is also an excellent way to start.
