iPOD Video - how many can be sync'd to one iTunes account?

    Hi,

I have an iPOD video & want to get one for my gf. Question is, is she going to have to get her own iTunes account and rebuy all the music we have? I may get her an iTouch rather than a iPOD video - does this complicate the accounts thing?

    Cheers,
    Tom

    It's a good question.
I don't know the exact answer but I own an ipod touch and also a nano.
I buy music from iTunes now and again and I have never had a problem putting purchased music on either ipod.

To clarify, do you mean that DRM music from your itunes library can be put on up to 5 different ipods which are synced with different itunes (as in itunes other than your own)

Sorry for confusing things, I don't buy music from itunes so I'm not totally clear on this aspect of Apples DRM...

actually yes to clarify, this is for purchased music as the op mentioned having to rebuy purchased music.

i don't buy from itunes either but i heard that 5 devices is the limit.

Sorry, I constructed my post badly there :p what I was really questioning was whether the 5 ipod limit was restricted only to ipods which are not managed by your own itunes media manager or if it applies to any ipods you ever own?

I have 2 ipods myself, there's a few more floating around the house and I'm sure one of my housemates has bought itunes DRM music so I'll try and test this out if I can round up enough pods..

i think your computer counts as one, if you copy to a cd it counts as another, your own ipod that's another so that's three gone.

i have an 80GB video and its the main ipod with my ituens. my GF has an 8GB nano and when i plug hers in, i just highlight all my music or whatever she wants and drap it to her nano icon on the left side of itunes.

i done the same thing with my mates itouch so it deffo works with atleast 3 ipods.

    hope this helps.
