Foreign exchange rates

Sorry for cross-posting, but I've got no answers to this query in the money forum, and thought it might fly (ahem) here, with people who are changing their money to go on holidays.

Is any one bank or casio or foreign exchange place better than another, in terms of the rates they give? I want to change some euro for yen, and would like to get the best rate possible - if there's any difference.

No one? Are we all so rich that we no longer mind losing €20 on a transaction, or are the rates now standard?

Shop around yourself. The main banks are IMO usually similar to each other but there are always slight differences. Avoid exchange kiosks in airports and travel agents, they always seem to have very bad rates.

The best rate I have found is on my credit card for purchases so I try and use that as much as possible abroad, there are nearly always fees for using ATMs though so that is no good for withdrawing small amounts.

Load up your credit card account with money before you go and then use your card at normal atms. Always cheaper than other options (as long as your credit card doesnt go into the red)

Japan actually isn't that great for credit cards, except in the centre of big cities. Elsewhere I'd do that ok.
