Standing on a podium in front of the assembled masses of BGRH

*Presses play on tape, "Caravan of Love" by the Housemartins begins playing*

On behalf of all metros, let's call a truce to the bitter fighting.

War is not the answer brothers.

We are all united in our love of being men, whatever our intpretation.

Let's move on and make this forum great for all mankind.

Here is a peace offering, an olive branch of sorts.

A nice wallpaper for your phone.

Because if it's one thing any man knows, metro, manly man -
whatever the denomination, it's that nothing beats a session with somone's Ma. :)

Peace be with you. *Extends hand*

You just can't get your head around this can you. BGRH isn't for all mankind. It should be, but as long as there are metrosexuals around it won't be. BGRH is for manly men. Proper men if you will. When a man starts moisturising and carrying one of those poxy manbag monstrosities he is no longer a man, he's a wimmin.

Exactly, so we agree on something at least - the importance of BGRH.

Right, I was going to PM you, but seeing as you started a thread, I might as well say it in public.

We all enjoy a bit of banter here on BGRH, plenty of slagging and the occasional dig at those that don't conform. For the most part, people know where the line is and don't cross it.

On occasion, however there is the occasional twat who comes along and thinks he (or she) can make an impression and rile the BGRH regulars. Some people take it beyond that and just get irritating.

I take a very laid back approach to moderating this forum, as does Robbo. I don't wave the ban stick around, in fact, I think the batteries in it might be flat, it gets used so little.

So, I am asking you to tone it down a bit. Enjoy the banter, enjoy the craic, but you would want to learn fairly rapidly where the line is. Start by checking your rear-view mirror.

I started this thread in an effort to put a cap on all the metro stuff of late.

For one, I'm not the one slinging the "ghey" insults around.
That is offensive stuff, not cool in this day and age.

I like the crack, I'm not the one who initiates the slinging matches, check my posts to verify this.

    Threads I've started:

Italy Leads the way - About hot birds in uniform.
Freak like me - About hot weird birds.
Ideal Woman In reality - More about sexy women
Air Guitar Off the beaten track - Air guitar
Foreign Women - more about foreign tail
A peace offering - attempt to stop the mud slinging.

Some of your regulars are the ones who take it too seriously, not me.

Look at the language and hostility in their posts, it speaks for itself.

Can we just not stop all this crap bickering and please go back to posting about fit birds and fried food?

Norman Cook, the very same. Married to the very cool Zoe Ball. Read a lovely piece in the paper
about how they love to spend lazy Sunday's in bed reading the papers and eating cheese and crisps together.

If I was married to Zoe Ball I wouldn't get out of bed on a Sunday either.

I've always had a thing for her.

She's never really done much for me, but that picture may make me reconsider whether I'd been a bit hasty in dismissing her.

Er, nice one on noticing the shoes there Brother Tom.

Looks like you and barneysplash have a bit more in common than it seemed at first after all.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes:

You see? We can play nice. :)

I'm still all for a single thread for safe for work pics of fit birds.

Maybe not a sticky, a lot of people don't like too many of them, but maybe like the proper order pics thread, that
resurfaces to the top of the list when added to.

I have a lot of love and a lot of nice pics to share.

The creative energy to share hot pics should be channeled into a single repository preserved
for all generations of men to behold.

And of course there are the lady posters, and what is more stimulating
than women commenting on how hot other women are.
I know it gets my engines going :)

PM tuxy or Lump and ask if you can get access to Slydice, which being a top sekrit forum may or may not exist. ;)

I would see a thread of that nature similar to girlie calendars in the workplace.

    Not going to happen.

On a practical level you're probably right.

Such a thread would need heavy supervision.

Will just have to make do with the ramdon posts of fit birds that
make their way onto the forums.

For god sake how do you not get it? the forum is called "Beer guts and Receeding hairlines" not "Manbag and Moisturiser", I had problems at the start posting here but I adapted to post in the spirit of the forum, and occasionally take the mickey (no pun intended:D), but still post in the spirt of the forum and have since got on fine here and if I can feel accepted then you could too, you're not being picked on because you are metrosexual (although reading some of your replies they do sound a bit...) people are just responding because you're trolling all their threads with posts that are the opposite of the spirit of the forum. If you want a conversation about Metro stuff take it to the fashion forum if you want a conversation about well cooked animal flesh and beer take it here but no-one here wants to be Metro and the more you post that crap the more you will get that response. It's simple really, before you post think to yourself "Am I posting like a metro or am I posting like a hetro"*. As it is now all your posts sound like you're trying to convert people to your religion and the brothers already have their God:

    Al_Bundy3.jpg

A good rule of thumb here is if you're not an Al, you're not a pal :)

*I'm excempt from that rule for obvious reasons but I never try to convert people

    Ok,
    A) eh... No not a chance. The Describtion of true manliness is in the Name of this Forum.

    B) You spelt "Yore Ma" right but not how it is spelt here.

Hmmmmmmm... lot of anger in this Forum.

May take a bit of lancing I would think.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,205 ✭✭✭barneysplash

This is the kind of response I wanted to avoid, let's just leave it alone please and get back to good posts
in other threads about manliness etc.
