:)Dog grooming is great, I have been doing it for years, I am a london trained City and Guilds Advanced Qualified Groomer, I know a mouthful, but you do not have to do the exams if you do not want to, they are not recognised in Ireland at the moment anyway.
I run grooming courses and have a shop in Blackrock Co. Dublin, you can havew a look at my site on www.thegroomingpad.com there are some photos there too.
Its a great business if you like dogs and you can do it from home or vets, shop etc. Most groomers seem to do well, there is down times like all business but mostly is grand.
    Hope you take to it.

And Blackrock, I am a city and guilds qualified groomer, so I can run courses also, like the other two you mentioned, we are all members of the irish professional dog groomers association. If you intend on doing a course I would recomend on only going to someone that has completed the city and guilds 7750 advanced groomer otherwise you do not know how much they know and they could be teaching you the wrong things. i hope this helps, and yes I run courses in my shop

Why don't you do some voluntary work with a groomer to get a feel for the job?

I do one day courses, one week courses, one months courses and more, bus as a business and not a hobby I do charge for these services, as I was charged myself and I have overheads, dont want to be mean about it, but I do have bills to pay etc.

    LOOKING FOR PUPS
People should contact the Irish Kennel club if looking for dogs, they can give you a list of breeders or www.shoedogsireland.com also www.epupz.ie have a lot of dogs for sale, but always check your pup out before you buy, check out your breed standard and look for any health checks that the parents would have had and if they have been vaccinated and microchipped, the conditions of the kennels and the parents etc. I hope this helps.

Banned for potentially libelous statement. Strange that this should be his/her first ever post on boards.ie, on a thread that's been dormant for a year!
