Will be travelling from the plaza hotel in tallaght - how much time should i allow to be at the airport at 16.30?

Leave an hour... You should be fine with that.

The M50 between Tallaght and the airport is undergoing massive road works and the toll bridge is on that stretch aswell, I'd say a good hour/hour and fifteen minutes just to be on the safe side

Hard to tell without telling us which method of transport you intent to take.

Make it 2 hours, arriving at an airport an hour before a flight is dodgy, due to check in queues and security queues. Unless you've taken the flight before know the airport and busy times VERY well.

Cheapest, most reliable and simple way for you to get to the Airport from the Plaza. Toddle up to the LUAS, get it to Busaras and get an Airlink from there to the airport. I'd leave at 2:30PM to be safely there for 4PM. A Taxi from Tallaght would be €40 circa and will take about an hour, more via the M 50, about €60 if traffic isn't good.

Tip, a Dublin Bus One day ticket will cover you for both LUAS and Bus for €6, which is the fare on the Airlink. This can be purchased in the Spar beside the Plaza or in Newspoint in the Square. be warned, the ticket has to be validated in a bus before LUAS accepts them but it can be done on any Dublin Bus.

That ticket is NOT valid on LUAS.

A one day Bus/Luas costs €6.50 and is available from Luas ticket machines and Dublin Bus ticket agents. The ticket agent version needs to be validated on a bus first, the Luas version does not.

My mistake on the price, John; thanks for noting same. I didn't know (not being a LUAS passenger) that they sell the tickets from the machines; that is very handy :)
