    Hello,

Does anyone know if one has to declare an offence for not having motor tax when going through Garda clearance vetting for the HSE's process?

    Thanks

    Yes you do.

All convictions regardless of their nature or how long ago must be declared.

    Thank you !

I presume not declaring a conviction even for something like motor tax is enough to disqualify one for a job?
I'm clearing this up for someone who is from the UK and didn't declare motor tax convictions for a job here and is now having difficulties. In the UK they exclude motor tax convictions.

Yes indeed. Failing to declare would lead to disqualification.

In the UK convictions become spent after 5 years for minor offences. Here they never become spent so must be declared even if they are spent elsewhere.
