Does anybody know what public transport would bring me to Artane Castle. Would prefer if there was a dart station nearby but would also like to know what buses stop near here?

    thank you : )

Killester Dart Station followed by 15-20 minute walk or so. 20B bus apparently goes there.

    Or would it be Harmonstown?

Much the same I would say and it's a faster walking route from Killester.

The DTO Journey Planner has a Find the nearest station feature.
If you can get your starting point recognised (it doesn't recognise "Artane Castle") it will show you a route to your nearest DART station.

"Kilmore Road, Artane" sends you to Killester station: Distance: 1.651 km Time: 19 minutes (the walk speed is quite slow).

Artane Castle = Artane Castle SC
Killester Stn is closest. Harmonstown Dort Stn is almost twice as far away.

20B passes outside the shopping centre from city centre, as does the 103 from Clontarf Road DART station (also passes near Killester station).

    Check www.dublinbus.ie for details.

Get the bus OP. A 20 minute (both directions - maybe with shopping?) walk after a DART journey isn't what I'd consider to be a good Public Transport option - especially not in the weather we've had the last few days.

For some reason Artane Castle SC is spelt Artaine, despite everything else around being Artane.. I'm pretty sure the old sign outside spelled it that way.

Re: transport, dart to Killester 20 mins walk away.

Buses: 20B will leave you just next to it, but anything going up the Malahide road will leave you 5 mins away.Get off at the second stop after Donnycarney church, take the first left, and it's about 5 mins:
    - 27 from Talbot St
    - 27B from Eden Quay
    - 42/43 from Lower Abbey St.
    - 128 from Rathmines, via Eden Quay.
All of them stop outside Gandon house, opposite Connolly Luas Stop, so your best choice would be from there. Otherwise 27 is the most frequent.

The 103 bus will get you from Artane Castle to Clontarf Dart station in about 15 minutes, you will have to time one though.

For some reason Artane Castle SC is spelt Artaine, despite everything else around being Artane.. I'm pretty sure the old sign outside spelled it that way.

Artaine is an old spelling (originally called Tartaine) and the SC is on the site of the former castle also spelled Artaine which is why they used the old spelling.

I live close to the Castle SC and if you are walking from the DART station, there is actually very little difference between Killester and Harmonstown even though Killester is closer as the crow flies. Walking time is more like 25 to 30mins.

The option of getting off at Clontarf and getting the 103 will get you there but the 103 goes on a bit of a tour B4 you get there.

If you not sure of walking then I advise getting off at Killester and walk to Collins Ave and getting the 103.

If you wish to get the bus from town then the 20B is your man which leaves you outside the Artane/Beaumount Recreation Centre which is across the road from the Castle. Get on at the stop across the road from the Connolly Luas stop.
    :)

i think the fastest route in most cases would be to get the 20B bus from either outside connolly or fairview (close to clontarf rd station)

Yep, as others have posted it's Artaine Castle SC.
Artaine Castle no longer exists and the SC is on the site.

Not much difference between Harmonstown and Killester so you as well get Killester.
If you walk to the Malahide Rd, you can get a bus into town no problem and it'll be faster than going to the Dart Station if you're just going to the city centre
