dell vostro or xps

    I'm trying to decide which one of these to get a Vostro 1500 or XPS M1530. The Vostro is cheaper with the same specs but I've read that they're quite heavy.

    Is the XPS lighter enough to be worth the extra money? I don't care about slicker finishes or red backgrounds just the weight of the Vostro is putting me off it, not the look.

    There's only be a small difference in weight.

    With a 6-cell battery the XPSM1530 is about 5.9lbs, with the 6-cell the Vostro 1500 is about 6.7 lbs.

    I have the same dilemma as you, looking at same laptops. My current laptop is 6.4 pounds and that is grand. I doubt it'll make much of a difference.

    That way, you might actually get it by, oh I don't know, mid-August. :mad:
