Is applecare worth it. I have a three week old macbook and considering purchasing applecare. I will probably sell the macbook in a year to 18 months anyway. Would it increase the resale value much ? Also what price is it with the student discount ? I can only find a price of 319 euro but i do not think that is with the discount.

Thanks in advance for the help

Unless things have changed recently you can purchase AppleCare at any point during your original warranty period (I'm open to correction). Assuming this is the case then you've got the option of waiting and seeing if you want to hang onto your Mac beyond the 12 month mark.

A student discount brings it down €265 (17% discount).

Check my thread on here about applecare. Buy it on ebay instead and you'll pay less than half price or buy yourself in the US.

I'd recommend buying it in the states, especially if your going there....well worth the saving :)
