Isn't this tomorrow? Shouldn't we be having a national holiday? Maybe a bit of mass in the morning, a quick parade before lunch and a filthy drinking session for the rest of the day - a day of general debauchery, her being the patron saint of loose women and all of that!

As co-patron saint of Ireland I think that St Brigid's Day should be a co-national holiday. It is also my birthday so that adds weight to my argument.

I've never even heard of St Brigid's day.
What we should really be trying to do is get the English Government to make St Patrick's Day a holiday.
They actually expect us to work that day.

    yes for extra bank holiday

We used to have to make those odd St Brigid crosses in primary school on the day.

It wasn't in any way as exciting as I'm making it sound.

I remember making those things. Absolute torture. I never really understood why we had to do it coz my hands would always be in bits afterwards.

She was patron st of our school too. We never got to make the crosses though :(

She is a Celtic Goddess of fire or something and you are supposed to put a candle in your window tonight.

Wouldn't be on for that. It's not their day, it's ours.

Ha, they were never optimistic enough to let us make the crosses but we did have to draw them every year......for EIGHT years.

Well it's celebrated a lot more than St George's day is.
