how much extra per month is it?

it costs eur15 per month for for the hd channels
(not bad if you have the movies and sport package )
you could upgrade and get the box ( gives you sky+ ) and BBC HD .

Pretty certain one of the stipulations of the offer will be that you take out an HD sub for at least 12 months.

If not, I might just pounce on this one, if only for the hdmi connection and larger hard-drive. The HD offerings at the moment are paltry at the minute. My cousin in the US gets 76 HD channels for only $5 extra a month, practically any worthwhile channel over there also has a HD version.

Yeah, I don't have any sports or movie extras so Sky+ will do me for the time being. No way is there enough HD output being offered to warrant an extra €15 per month. Channel 4 are meant to be going HD soon, but we'll be waiting a while for the rest of them (RTE a long way off).

If I was to purchase a HD box off Ebay at some stage, will it pick up BBC HD without the Sky subscription?

yea it will. (thats what i did)
you need a quad lnb to utilise the recording capabilities on it.

I have a Sky Multiroom and Sky HD sub currently. One box is an HD box I bought off fleabay a while ago, the other is a plus box I got from Sky.

Can I upgrade the second Multiroom box to an HD box without my monthly sub getting hiked even further ?

    b.

That's the killer for me as well. I could have got HD for €150 recently (as part of the Introduce a Friend offer) but decided against it purely because of the €15/month.
