    The Irish Times has a feature today on The Wire and an interview with David Simon here (subscription required).

    The piece ends with:
    The fourth season of The Wire is currently on TG4 late on Monday nights. The fifth season will follow immediately afterwards.

    Since TG4 is about half way through S4 at the moment it should mean that S5 will be shown probably in early March.

    Saw that in the paper today.

    He didn't really say much I haven't read elsewhere but still an interesting read.

    Was thinking of picking up his Homicide and Corner books as they were mentioned. Are they any good?

    fair play to TG4 that's a good move. I didn't expect them to screen Season 5 so soon
