The rubber rings from Grolsh bottles?

Sure most straplocks wouldn't involve any drilling? Just screw in the new ones and away you go (that's the way it works in my imagination).

Musician Inc sell straplocks. No drilling should be required.

I always use DiMarzio cliplock straps. They're about as secure and sturdy as you can get. No drilling required either, you just have to remove your guitars current strap buttons. The strap is very firmly attatched to the guitar.

The problem with Les Pauls is that the screw they originally use to install the strap button is wider than normal.

Seriously, get teh rubber tops from two Grolsch flip tops.

It's correct that Gibson screws are different than standard but im sure there are straplocks available specifically for LPs anyway.

Straplocks aren't expensive. The Grolsch trick works alright short-term, but for the sake of a few quid and on an expensive guitar, i'd get proper straplocks personally.

I've seen people using Dunlop Straploks on Gibsons. I use them (not on Gibsons) and find them great! :)
    Musician Inc. sell 'em. ;)

Planet Waves strap locks click onto the existing buttons I think. Normally quality stuff.
