The Boylepoker.com team are proud to announce to the boards.ie poker community our forth coming February giveaways and 2008 Irish Poker Open Promotion.

During the month of February Boylepoker will be hosting a series of exclusive tournaments each weekday night. In addition to the added prize pools and $100 bounties which the Boylepoker.com team carry on their heads, points will be awarded to all entrants; extra points will be awarded to the top ten finishers.

Weekly leader board winners will play our Poker Manager heads up each Sunday and the top nine on our monthly leader board will sit at a single table in a play off to determine who will gain entry into this years’ all expenses paid 2008 Irish Poker Open, where the Prize pool looks sure to exceed a record €3,000,000.

Details of the February promotion, $500 first time deposit bonus and other offers can be found on the boylepoker.com website.

As always we welcome your suggestions, feedback or any questions.

    Regards

    Boylepoker Team. :)

Hi fourofclubs,i play on boylepoker regularly and this promotion looks good.
Couple of questions, are these tournies open to boylepoker players only or network wide?
All the tournies have either 5 or 10 minute blind levels, effectively turbos, why is this?
I couldn't find any details of points breakdowns for the leaderboards, would you be able to post these please?
    thanks in advance

    Danny

    Hi Danny

Thanks for your post, I’m happy to try and answer all your questions.

These special tournaments are only open to customers of Boylepoker.com and are not available to other players on the network.

With regard to these tournaments effectively being turbo’s I have to slightly disagree.

3 of the tournaments are rebuy tournaments which should result in quite a few chips in play by the end of the rebuy period (a few of our players have promised to go rebuy crazy!). The Friday tournament has 2500 chips issues which should also slow down play considerably. I have to agree the Monday tournament may be a little quick for many player’s tastes but then as you can see two of our staff are playing in them with bounties and they need to get back to their work ASAP!

Lastly the point allocation is on the website but to make it easier I have attached it here.

Thanks for the feedback and I will pass your comments onto the poker manager (who incidentally you get to play for $500 if you top the weekly Leaderboard and I can confirm he is a rubbish heads up player). This is the first time we have introduced a Leaderboard promotion and are learning all the time, if you have any additional thoughts or comments they would be gratefully received.

    Many Thanks

    Derek

    Points are awarded as follows
    1st 10 pts
    2nd 8 pts
    3rd 6 pts
    4th 4 pts
    5th 3 pts
    6th 2 pts
    7th 2 pts
    8th 2 pts
    9th 1pt
    10th 1pt
    All entrants 2pts

    Thanks for the response,
I didn't realise some of the tournies were rebuys, fair enough more chips more play etc..
I am delighted you are running this kind of promotion and will be taking part in these tournaments, and without trying to sound overly critical the points system seems very weak with very little thought or imagination.Surely a system where number of runners and buyin are considered would be better?
Anyhow,i look forward to winning this and my irish open seat:p

    Hi Danny

We take note of your point about the point scoring. We wanted players who entered many events to score well and thats probably at the detriment of players who do well in the tournaments with the biggest amount of entrants.

Like we said we are learning and have taken your point onboard, look forward to changes the next time we run this promotion

    Thanks

    Derek
