Thailand for 3 weeks

Me and 2 of my mates are heading to thailand for 3 weeks in march. Spending 2 nights in dubai first then another 2 in bangkok. Hoping to go down south around the islands. Anyone got any tips of places to go, see, accommodation, nightlife etc.
