Does anyone know of a video sender that will work with UPC's DVR? I tried 2 different ones from Argos but neither of them seemed to get a signal on the TV upstairs.

All types of video senders should in theory work however they tend to be hit and miss depending on the wall structure on your house, if possible hook it into a vcr and select the av channel on it with a scart lead and run a coaxial upto the room in question, usually a remote control sender will then be sufficient to change channels.

I use a "Total control" video sender I got in argos with the DVR. It broadcasts about 10 foot (some concrete in the way). It's fine but not as good as direct connection.

I use these ones I got a few years back in Maplin with my UPC DVR box:

Any sender should work fine with the DVR. You need to make sure you have the channel set correctly on box boxes (might be little pins on the back to do this) and make sure you are in range. I have the sender in my sitting room and I have 3 receivers - one in the dining room, one in the main bedroom and one in the attic room and I get a picture on all of them. You might have to move them around a bit to get the best picture and of course the farther you are away from the sender the worse the picture will be. The picture on the attic TV can be only average until I move the receiver about a bit.

They also suffer interference from wireless networks (which I have) and microwaves (which I have also, but tend not to use when Eastenders is on!).

The only problem I'm having really is with the remote sender, I think its just a case of finding the best position for the remote "eye" as it worked fine with my old Pace box.

Thanks for the replied guys, guess I'll just keep trying ones from Argos and will drop out to Maplins too. To be honest, it's not going to get loads of use. Just so I can watch a football match the odd night in the bedroom.
