Blackberry Service charge on Vodafone

Vodafone are currently charging me 20 euro a month to get email to my phone. Does anyone know if you have to pay this charge to get emails? My sister doesn't pay this, yet still gets all her emails to her phone. We are both paying for hosted exchange, and we don't use the Vodafone system to get our emails.

Does anyone know about this? I dont want to cancel as it takes up to a month to change.

Another Q - does Meteor or 3 support blackberry?

    who is your sister with?
    what phone does she have?
what type of account does she have?

    Sister is with Vodafone,
same phone as me - blackberry
    same plan.

Im thinking because the blackberry uses GPRS it doesnt have to bypass the Vodafone system to scoop up the emails.

If you're using the blackberry service, you have to pay a minimum charge of €20 per month, if she's getting it free, say nothing!! :D

The Blackberry charge of 20 is for unlimited E Mail and unlimited WAP browsing (At least it is for O2 anyway) The only other way to get E Mail to the Blackberry is with a IMAP G Mail A/C which shouldn't cost a cent!

being faster does not make it cheaper...if you are not on a bundled data package you are charged per KB downloaded no matter how fast it is

Im thinking of switching to Meteor from Voda. Does anyone know if I can still use my Blackberry? I don't use the Vodafone email service, but my own private hosted blackberry server. If I change it should not matter, right?

Blackberry Bundle is 20 + VAT on Vodafone for no limit send/receive usage so you don't have to worry about GPRS usage chargers which are 2c per kb for both send & receiving.

You can opt out of the bundle and see how you go with the GPRS standard charges which Sis should be on.

As someone said if she somehow ain't getting charged SAY NUTHIN!

maybe you should research it before you comment. GPRS is charged per kb, not per minute. being faster doesn't affect the price in any way

Jesus u haters never give up,I am not on about any charges, all I am saying is that to forward the mail from your Gmail A/C to a blackberry doesn't cost anything RE: Voda/O2 charge 20. Of course GPRS charges will apply, that goes without saying!!!
Ya'll should stop hatin and start givin advice for people that need it instead of looking for comments to give out about ,fool...

i get the feeling you're going to be banned very soon. on these here boards we show each other respect and you're not being very respectful. also, here is a quote from you taken from this thread:

so you were quite clearly talking about charges. i pointed out that getting a 3g sim card will not affect the charges

You then called me a fool when in fact you are the fool. if you're going to deny saying something, you should edit the post where you said it. now go away
