Why is it a disgrace? They're there to make a profit. Besides, most of the cost of petrol here is in taxes is it not?

    from sky news....
shell announce profits of nearly 14bn.

that is crazy with the price we pay at the pumps.
i actually was annoyed reading this.

Do you get annoyed when AIB/Bank of Ireland, Tesco, FIAT, etc etc etc announce their profits (which are generally in the Billions) for the year?

Shell are one of the biggest companies in the world...

So don't buy Shell. If you need any more convincing, do a little research on their human rights record.

The funny thing is that I find prices in here quite cheap:)

My old hometown has average price 1.384 E / litre :(

Even compared to whole Europe petrol prices are not so bad in Ireland.

if it annoys you so much why don't you buy shares in the company?

Yeh, petrol in Ireland is DIRT cheap compared to Holland

1.52 a litre in a local shell station here for petrol
    1.21 for Diesel

Most of the price of petrol is TAX, not the cost from the petrol company.

Hence when crude oil goes from $70 ->$100 a barrel we don't see a 33% increase at the pumps, we see a €0.10 cent increase.....

British government took multiples of that from the same petrol that was sold, not much of a word about that in the media today.
