Hi guys. I bought a second hand car about 2 weeks ago and I filled in the change of ownership form which the previous owner posted off.
However the car needs to be taxed now and im not sure if I have to wait on the new log book or just go in and tax it anyway.
Does anyone know what I need to do?

As far as I know you can tax it as soon as the change of ownership is "up on the system" you don't need the log book, but until you have the logbook it's hard to know if the change of ownership has been processed...

Thanks Paddy. What stance do the gardai take on it if I was stopped?
Do I just tell them im waiting on the log book and go on my merry way?
