Probably not I am afraid. IF someone repairs it, it may corrode again from the inside.

Oh no:( It's currently in A&E (aka in the airing cupboard) I'll leave it there till the morning and see what happens but I doubt that will work.
I just bought an iphone which I'm getting tomorrow so hopefully that could be an alternative? Can 8GB hold around 1030 songs without taking up too much memory?

Give it plenty of time to completely dry out.. i would leave it in there a week if I were you! You never know you could be lucky!

On a similar side story of Ipod woe.. during the summer I had this aerosol spf spray (all the rage in the states)... comes out as an aerosol substance and it got pressed in my backpack with my ipod beside it.. the whole can emptied itself. Took the Ipod out and it was saturated.. the stuff had managed to make its way into it and the screen was what looked like water damaged on the inside.. kind of dark splodges on it.. still readable though, it dried out and improved a bit, Ipod still works perfectly! (Also the stuff got into my mobile phone and pretty much did the same thing to the screen but also ruined the speaker)

    So you never know....!

I'll see what happens. It became completely submerged and I literally had to fish it out. I'll try and remain positive:(
