Braemor road morning traffic

I've been driving from Dodder Park Road onto Braemor Road and then onto Churchtown Road Upper for the past year.

Braemor Road was always 'empty' until I got to Churchtown Road but for the past 2 weeks it's been bumper to bumper - it adds 25 minutes to my journey.

I can't see anything on my route that's changed - traffic light sequence or road works - so I can only guess that something's happened just off my route that's preventing people from exiting my route.

Can anyone shed any light on this??

Would it have anything to do with the roadworks in Dundrum? I'm not sure how far away Braemor is from Dundrum (not too far I think) and I know the traffic near the Balally Luas is terrible since the first week of January. It's taking me ages to get there every day because part of the Sandyford Road is closed for a couple of months due to "road improvements"?!!!

Hmm, that could be it alright. At least we can live in the hope that it *should* improve again at some point in the future!

The through traffic flow on Sandyford Road has been reversed and the road is now one-way inbound rather than outbound - I suspect that's the answer, as cars now have to divert via Sandyford Industrial Estate and Balally, and you're getting the knock-on effect. Bad news is that it's to last until October!

Until October....!!! Grrr.. I will have to try and figure out another way to get to the Luas Park and Ride so. Thanks for letting me know that it's going to last that long. I thought it was only for a few weeks:(
