    Dudes,
I have 2 FTA boxes (1 from Lidl,1 From Maplin) running off the Lidl dish from last summer (80cm I think). Astra 2A is the source of my entertainmnet at the moment but I was wondering do I need a motor to be able to pick up any other Satellite i.e Astra 1 or Hotbird ?

Can the dish pick up satellites that are nearby without the need for a dish ?

You can get a multi lnb bracket (and a diseqc switch) and attach it to the arm of the dish - although not every bracket will fit a lidl dish. So can be done cheaply. Make sure the box you are using supports diseqc switching.

It depends on the size of the LNBs. 3 singles will be fine, that's what I use. If you're worried about the weight on the LNB arm, there are holes in the edge of the dish where you can attach guy-lines down to the LNB's to take some of the weight, but the aluminium LNB arm is strong enough. I also use LNB holders like these (on a Lidl set):

If you search on eBay, you can find them in plastic or alloy metal. They work very well, and once set up and tightened, there's little chance of them moving around, though we've been having some strong winds lately, but mine are still fine.
