I recently purchased a win TV-Nova-T-stick and TV Antenna for my laptop so as I could watch Freeview Digital TV. This is a USB connection which in turn connects to a portable aerial. When I installed it and did the scan nothing showed up which is not uncommon and means you have to do it manually. To do this I need the LCN number of my local transmitter which would be, living in Rathmines, the Three Rock Transmitter. does anyone know how I can get the LCN number for the transmitter and or have any suggestions for me on how to start viewing tv on my laptop

    It's not a public service.

Read the other threads on this. You may need different Software.

cheers marty, thats worked, but during the scan it picked up areound 34 channels including radio stations, about 15 tv channesl but when i went to view the only channels to come up were the 4 irish channels, during the scan it picked up the bbc's and itv's channel 6 etc but when i go to that channel on the viewer it only shows the hauppage screensaver. is this the same for you of is there something else i need to do.

    cheerz

You will only see the four Irish terrestrials as nothing else is FTA. Those channels you are seeing (BBC, ITV) are more than likely on the software as a default as you searched under UK.

If you read the many posts about this on this forum you'll see that the DTTV transmissions from Three Rock and Clermont are not public, that only the 4 Irish TV channels and radio are free to air, and that the rest is encrypted and you'd need a dedicated reciever for them.

And even those may encrypt, change to MPEG4, go off air or anything.
