Can anyone tell me how to get video playing in a java programme?
Or perhaps direct me to a decent tutorial?

You mean something like this to build into a java application?

Possibly, but is there any way of playing, and editing video in java using the built in libraries?

Java doesn't have good, included multimedia libraries. You'll have to find third party ones.

Yes, you'll need to use the JMF or search for third party ones. Depends what you want to do, which one fits your needs best.

Ok, I've downloaded and installed the JMF. Is there any decent tutorials for it?
