    Hi,
Sorry for polluting the forum with this, but does anyone know if its possible to see the image you're about to take on the LCD of Canon Rebel XTi as you would with a P&S, or do you have to use the eyepiece? I just got it today and at the moment when I turn it on and move the dial to full-auto, all I see is a screen describing the settings.
    Thanks.

You are looking for liveview and from what I can see on the Canon website it doesn't offer this. The eyepiece is better for composing shots. You should try and get used to it ;)

You must use the eyepiece. Only newer models (40D, 1D MkIII, 1Ds MkIII and 450D) would have live-view.

Then again, I'd say the vast majority of photographers seldom would use a live-view function.
