Business just wasn't what it used to be, especially with internet shopping.
Mountjoy did a lot of business with service bits and accessories and I remember a few years back there would be a queue from the counter out the door every Saturday with lads buying service gear.

Mountjoy Motorcycles is a big loss to the every day biker as not only was it the best place for bits and advice it was also a hive of social activity every weekend.

Liam is now working across the road in what's now called "Mountjoy Corner" where he still dishes out good advice and has an array of parts/gear etc for sale.

Wasnt their market heavily based on two stroke and couriers? Two strokes are on the way out, and I dont know about couriers.:)

Its the same old story of a building being worth more than a business I suppose.

You will find most of their old stock, the old wooden home made bulb tester they used and a former employee working in the Honda shop across the road from them. They have a good selection of spurious brake & clutch leavers and other service parts for common makes of bikes. I was glad to see somewhere in town that catered for couriers again.
