    KITT goes green
    Legendary talking super-car KITT is going green in the upcoming Knight Rider revamp.

    The environment was of little concern when David Hasselhoff tore around in KITT in the original 1980s TV series, but times have changed. According to science-fiction website io9.com, KITT will be powered by solar energy in the new Knight Rider telemovie.

    The remake's executive producer David Bartis hinted that KITT is "going green in some new ways", suggesting that the intelligent automobile might be a hybrid car or even nuclear-powered.

    The environmentally friendly engine isn't the only change KITT will undergo. Whereas in the original series KITT was a Pontiac Trans Am, in the update he's a Mustang Shelby GT with a whole range of hi-tech tricks, such as morphing, changing colour, nanotech weapons and self-defence, and self-repair.

    Arrested Development star Will Arnett voices KITT in the telemovie, slated to premiere in the US on February 17. However, there's speculation that actor William Daniels might return to the role if the telemovie is picked up for a full series.

    The Knight Rider telemovie follows the adventures of Mike Tracer (Justin Breuning), estranged son of Michael Knight (Hasselhoff).

    So would be interested in a series? Personally I wouldn't. It'd be like cheating on your girlfriend and I couldn't let the Hoff down like that

    ill give the pilot a look. the trailer is really bad though and the car they have selected for the new kit is terrible. some ford or something. sorry dont know much about cars but it looks retarded.

    Yeah, I'm not mad on the car myself(It's a Shelby GT). The thing is, it's a kick ass car, it just looks mundane.

    The Shelby's an over powered brick of a car. It's about as modern as sliced bread.

    Will watch it but I know it'll be full of mock technology that will just make it look stupid.
    estranged son of Michael Knight (Hasselhoff).
    Does that mean he has a monobrow?

    If it focuses on evil kit and monobrowed hasselhoff it would be a much more watchable show.

    not solar powered, but hybrid!
    The Knight Industries 3000,[5] will be an upgrade to The Knight Industries 2000,[5] due to appear on the Knight Rider 2008 backdoor telepic-pilot by NBC. KITT will be voiced by Will Arnett in the pilot. KITT is going to be a 2008 Ford Mustang GT500KR[5] and will have similar features as compared to the original KITT including the ability to morph into a "battle mode" (which seemingly draws concept from another NBC series, Viper) – a new effect achieved primarily with CGI animation.

    The new KITT boasts the following features among others:[5]

    * 550 horsepower output hybrid engine
    * Sports-tuned suspension
    * Xenon headlamps with infrared night-vision
    * Metallic paint with nanotech enhanced camouflage
    * Military satellite access
    * FBI database access
    * Self-regeneration and damage repair
    * High-speed Internet
    * Artificial Intelligence
    * Voice-activated GPS system
