creative zen freezing, reset not working

Ok. I've had my creative zen for a week, and was hoping it would be the end of the nightmare I've had with crappy mp3 players. I've been really pleased with it up until today when it froze out of the blue--I turned it on and tried to play a song, and there it sat; it wouldn't turn off, and none of the buttons were working. This was all fine. I understand that electronics tend to freeze ocassionally, so I managed to tear apart my key ring in order to reset it. This appeared to fix the problem. It turned on ok, and said it was "rebuilding". I was able to scroll through the main screen, but as soon as I tried to play a song it froze again.

Back to square one, then. I've tried reset a few more times now, and always the same situation. The main screen works, but as soon as I try to play a song or the radio, everything goes to hell. So now I'm stuck and frusterated.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hey,

I had the same trouble with my Zen, Started to act up after a few months, in the end I had to re-format/format the player and that fixed the problem. At the moment my Zen doesn't even turn on after a full charge, it just sits gathering dust. I'd advise you to return it under warranty and wash your hands of it.. I think the Manuf Warranty is up on mine as I've had it for more that a year...

    All the best.
