Lads I've been messing about with my Garmin 360 and I accidently deleted a system file. Now I can't do address searches. Anyone know how I can restore it or where to get it?

You could try restoring it to factory default settings.

all thats on the cd that came with it is a pdf document with the users manual

and i'm in hot water now cause I desperately need this for tomorrow

the restore only resets settings, no files are restored

There's also a unit software update from Dec 18th 2007 (v 4.40), so you could try updating to this version, either via webupdater, or downloading the update from here:
    http://www8.garmin.com/support/collection.jsp?product=010-00538-00

But if it's a mapping or index file, the system update will likely not help. Know anyone else with a 360 you could copy the file from?

Dude what system file are you missing specifically? I have a nuvi 300 so I would imagine the system files would be similar..
If you know exactly what file you deleted I will copy it from mine and send it to you via attachment in an email.

I tried it, that only updates the OS....not the map details

I'm running a 128k connection, id never be able to send you it. If anyone else has a nuvi 300 series here and they have broadband it would be easy enough to send you.

borrow a unit off someone for tomorrow and get yours sorted later....

That sounds like it's the actuall compilled map file that you have deleted. If you have the maps installed on your pc with mapsource though you should just be able to re select all the required maps and re install them to your unit.

I bit the bullet and brought it back to Dixons. They swapped it out for a new one without a quibble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
