Right click > Find Album Artwork.

You'll need to have all the albums tagged properly, and an iTunes Store Account.

What do you mean by - proprerly tagged.
I have used - Find Artwork - but nothing happens?

Correct Artist name and Album name, if you just have say... the name of a song in the Album field, odds are you'll get no results.

If you can't get the album art through iTunes, try www.albumart.org

A lot of the cd's were added before I signed up to a Itunes account.
None of these seem to be updated, even though I have ticked the get Artwork box.
    Any ideas?

The only thing i know about it is that you must have a credit card signed up with your itunes account to be able to get the album artwork... I don't know if that's the same as just registering an account with itunes (i've never used itunes myself except for podcasts...)

you need a itunes account to get the album artwork, but in turn to get a itunes account you need a credit card. it baffles me tbh.

The Ipod is an 80gb video.
I have an Itunes account, but it was opened after I installed the albums.
The "find arwork" page goes througt the motions and says "done/finished", but no covers were updated???

This is what I was talking about.
Did you open the Itunes account before or after you loaded the albums?
All mine were loaded before I opened the Itunes account.
Dont know if that makes a difference or not.
Anyone else able to get around this problem??

    Dregon, thanks for the link.

    Jay

I have the 80gb classic as well and this is what i do to get the album covers....

when your on itunes i highlight a song then press Ctrl I then click on the artwork tab at the top, click in the white box and copy and paste the album cover from google images. it has to be done for each individual song though but if you do an entire album at once it doesnt take long!!!

It will take long enough if you have 250+ cd's missing artwork...

You don't have to do it for every individual song in an album. Once you have found the art work on amazon or google images, copy it to the clipboard. Then in itunes select all the tracks in the album and right click. The select Get Info and paste the art work into the white box on the right hand side and then click OK. It will take a couple of seconds but will add the art work to all the tracks in the album.

    Thanks for that.
It seems the only way is to do it manually. I had hoped that there was some way of making Itunes recognise that covers were missing and go and look for them. What was I thinking?????

can't you not go to to itunes and do this

cmd + a << select all tracks in library.
ctrl + click << select get album info.

    or on windows

ctrl + a << select all tracks in library.
right click << select get album info.

I manually pasted any missing artwork from Google Images into the MP3 files through the iTunes 'Get Info' tab.. But I found a quicker automated way of getting all the artwork that you are missing.

    http://art4itunes.com/getart/uploadtracks.php

"Art4itunes is one of them, and although none of the services offer immaculate returns, this one gives you near-complete results. All you have to do is click on File > Export (in iTunes), and save the list as a text file. Access art4itunes, and select which region you want your album artwork from (US or UK). Select your artwork size and browse to select the text file you just saved. Next click on 'Send file' and wait. In a moment you will be taken to a new page with all the artwork it could manage to compile (mostly from Amazon)."
