    Anybody know what the rules regarding tatoos are when joining the gards?

    Is it ok if they arent visible or are they completely banned?
    or are there any rules at all?

    As long as they are not visible in your interview and you get accepted and signed into the force there is no problem.

    The board conducting the interview faced with tatoo's on the neck or hands and forearms would in my opinion go against the interviewee. It is en elderly Super and two civil servants conducting the interview (who 100% will not have visible tatoo's)

    Many Gardai have tatoo's which are visible. Only real time you would see them is when they wear short sleeve shirts. There is no internal disciplinary code which states gardai have to keep these covered up or that tatoo's are not allowed.
