I know a girl who worked there. She said it's full of below average intelligence females who like to bitch all day. She hated it.

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with being a below average intelligence female, just saying that's what she told me!

I worked for Permanent TSB which is owned by Irish Life. Was a horrible, horrible, place to work. You had to ask before you went to the toilet, etc.

What kind of job are you going for?

I've never heard of anyone having to ask to go to the toilet in PTSB! In fact, it's very relaxed I'd say.

No, really, I worked there. It was a very unrelaxed place...

Well I work in the company as a professional. I think it's a great place to work.

Thats because Filing/IDT are the most laid back departement in the place only bad thing about it is, i'd say, the lack of windows. Seriously, no-one in there has to wear a suit because they only deal with Internal Customers.
(Yes, I work in Irish Life at present)
I know people who've moved upstairs around the area of accounting and med/underwriting, they say its just dull, dull and thrice ****ing dull. Nothing that a long drop and short rope can't fix
(or a two weeks notice, whichever suits.)
Not to mention that most of the employees (not all) are somewhat "pretentious" to say the least.

I'd recommend giving Lion Taming a go. Would be far more exciting.

    Talk about bumping old threads...

Yes there's on site parking. Free for bikes, Something like €30 a day for cars although if you're a senior manager you'll get a free space.

I've had a couple of relations worked there, one retired, the other still there.

They always had really good long term prospects and offered a lot of training, but being part of the AIB conglomerate of failed financial services duds things might be different. That said, I only know of one person who ever left and he did so to embark on an entirely unrelated career.

Both relations were or are there for 40+ years. As for parking, I'd imagine they are stingy about it. Both of the 2 rellies had parking, but as I said, they'd been there fore decades. Talk to HR and explain your need for parking - though in fairness, being only a short walk from the train and bus, they might find it hard to believe that you must drive.

You won't get parking in Irish Life unless you're there 20+ years and you get no discount in the public carpark underneath the building. Your "need" for parking would have to be medical I'd say if you wanted a chance of them thinking about giving you a pass. You could try Connolly station, I think the charge there is about €7 a day (it was a couple of years ago anyway).
