Whether you are playing cash or tourney, try to stick to some kind of bankroll management( cash .10/.25 HE or tourney $10 SNG etc depending on what buyins you want to set for yourself). Your bankroll wont grow as quickly as it has before but it will steadily grow and your game will improve (whatever that game may be).

    Good luck.

Edit to add: Also dont play omaha as some muppets are advising, unless of course you know what you are doing.

The single most important piece of advice i can give you is this: Dont let the bad beats get you down. Poker is demoralising enough without crying over spilt milk (or BB's for that matter).

Tell us more stuff as nobody can really tell you anything as you've not given enough information.
How have you spun up the money, what stakes what games. How long have you played. What are your preferred games etc

sorry was,nt more detailed originally lodged 100 just ploughted straight into 20nl games played 2 tables doubled up very quickly on one and trebled up on other withdrew 100 and had a shot at 50nl took it much more seriously played 2 tables again and playing probably too tightly left with 420 in total plus my remaining balance just over 500 . am getting poker tracker and going to take this seriously have played omaha but play too many hands and always bust out so holdem it is tournaments and cash. love to be able to make steady money does,nt have to be huge but all helps. have played poker for a number of years but mainly socially although i do know am a decent player if mood takes me sick of messing about now so here goes !

    Thanks everyone

Single biggest factor in improving my win rate was not cashing out and having a proper bankroll for the games. So I'd advise leaving in your money the account and sticking to games where the buyin is less than 1/20th of the money you have to play - for cash games.
So don't play 50nl till you have 1k in your account.

Having a small pool of money in your account (compared to the game you are playing) makes it difficult to push your edges properly.

    - oh, and if you think you are playing badly due to tilting a but take a break. You can't play through it (unless you suck out on a few people:)
