    Hi,

planning on installing a new hob. The cooker is rated at 30 amps, so i'll need 4mm cable/wire? just wondering does it need to be heat resistant, or will normal 6mm cable do? Does it have to be flex or cable?

The hob is right over a build in cooker (20 amp, so i guess 2.5mm heat resistant flex would be ok?)

    thanks,
    J

Either 6sq T&E or 2.5 heat resistant flex will do, haven't seen the flex being used in years myself so I always go with the 6 sq myself.

go with the 2.5 heat resistant as its smaller -most oven and hobs now wont take the 6sq directly
