Iomega 500Gb external hard drive

I bought an Iomega 500Gb external hard drive yesterday (the 109 euro one in Peats), took it out of the box, tilted it slightly in my hands and the inside of it moved, like a box within a box. I haven't even plugged it in or connected it yet because that doesn't seem right to me. Thing is, the leaflet says if there's any problems not to bring it back to the shop but to contact their support, but my instinct would be just to get a replacement straight away so I was wondering if anybody else has one of these and does it do the same thing? The iomega website isn't the most useful...

Well an external hard drive is a box in a box, its a hard drive in a casing but it shouldnt be moving about like you say. I would ignore what it says and bring it back to Peats and just get a replacement since thats the place of purchase. They should swap it for you no problem

Yeah that's what I was thinking, thanks! It may work at the start (not even going to try though!) but I don't want to risk ultimately losing all the data on it!
