basically i am trying to apply as a mature student in nui for sept coming now i am not sure if i need to do a plc course in the yeats college or if a diploma will do?
and i need to sort out grants also.

if anybody could shed some light on the subject i would appreciate it.

    thanks

    hi,
i emailed her with a query and she replied the next day,so chance doing that.
as far as i know, mature students are accessed based on life experience as opposed to actual qualifications
to quote the email i received:

"The entry requirements you refer to below relate only to school leavers. When you apply as a mature students whether or not you have Irish or another language is not an issue at all. All aspects of your background are looked at, your life and work experience, educational achievements to date etc. Holding other qualifications will certainly boost your application. See our Mature Students website: www.nuigalway.ie"

hope this helps in some way
