    Hi,

I have an inspiron 1525 and I'm wondering how can I get the best out of the battery in the machine.

Should I leave the pc plugged in all the time, or should I only plug it in when I am charging it?

And once charged do I then have to leave the battery run out completely before I start to recharge it?

In short do I have to treat the battery in my laptop the same way as I treat my mobile phone battery, or is there management within the machine itself or the operating system to conserve the life of the battery for as long as possible.

Thanks for any help or advice that any of you might be able to give.

It's been discussed a lot before, google it and you'll get loads of hits. If you're going to leave plugged in for any period of time take out the battery. Lithium ion batteries dont have the "memory effect" nicad batteries have, so you can charge them when they're half full, and i wont make a difference.
