Heres the story--Bought an item 2 weeks ago on ebay.Paid the seller as soon as I won the auction.
Next day I check my paypal account and it says the payment was "uncollected" and an option to cancel the payment.
I email paypal and apparently the account that I paid into was no longer in use or could be changed to a different name.I email the seller and they say that theyve changed their paypal account and could I pay into the new one. They send me an invoice and receive the payment and say that theyve sent the goods the same day.

This was 2 weeks ago and Ive yet to receive my goods. The seller says it was definately posted but cant check it because they didnt send it registered post. They keep saying theyre going to email me a copy of the receipt but still no sign of it.I feel like Im getting the runaround from this bloke.

    My question is :
How long do I wait before complaining to ebay?Am I being unreasonable in my assumption that the goods should have been here from Cork in 2 weeks??Have I fooked up by paying into a different account than what was listed on ebay and linked to when I clicked "paynow" even though the seller and paypal agree the name change??

I kept screenshots of the original account and also have all the emails and contacts from the seller saved in case there was something dodgy going on.

    Thanks
    Richie.

I'd say start a dispute in Paypal now. Two weeks is more than enough time for delivery. I don't think you've fcuked anything up either as the seller did send you a new invoice with the corrected details on it right?

Sounds a bit like the seller is a bit of a chancer. He put the wrong account (why does he have 2 Paypal accounts?) on the original auction. If he can't prove postage, then Paypal will side with you.

Note that if you start a dispute with Paypal, you cannot re-open it once you settle. I found this out the hard way when I bought "Genuine" Gillette Power Fusion blades from the seller electronic-import-store on eBay. He sent me nothing and ignored my emails. I opened a dispute with Paypal and only then did he send the blades. When I got them, I gave them the once over and closed the dispute. However, closer examination revealed that the blades were in fact counterfeit - and I cannot re-open the dispute with Paypal! Naturally, the seller is ignoring my emails and I am out of pocket by €60.

You have 45 days to open a dispute/buyer complaint with PayPal. Open a dispute with the seller, this gives them the opportunity to respond to the claim. If neither of you are happy or the goods are still not received, you can upgrade it to a buyer complaint in which case PayPal will look after it from there.

Contact your credit card provider and ask about a chargeback since you were sold counterfeit products and cannot get a refund from the seller or Paypal. They'll take it from there, and investigate directly with Paypal.

The CC association don't investigate through PayPal. It was up to the buyer to be fully sure before they decided to close the complaint. PayPal may take action on your account for filing an unauthorised Chargeback.

I bought the blades in mid November from electronic-import-store and eventually got them in late December after claiming with Paypal. They were really good fakes - I only suspected when I used them and tore my face to shreds! There is a guide on fakeblades.com to spotting fakes - unfortunately I found it too late!

He has got several negative feedback recently about his fake blades (and fake MP4 players) and seems to be dumping his blade stock in huge batches at a Buy it Now price of £1000! I've reported these to eBay but they've done nothing. I might resurrect a recent thread on this forum re bad eBay experiences to give full details.

Ah right. It's probably too late now but you could send off an email to PayPal and explain the situation, usually if you contact PayPal within a week or two of closing the claim you can have the claim refiled. Especially when the item is counterfeit, no harm in sending off an email.

Hmm...the last time I contacted my card provider (AIB) about unauthorised transactions they were very unhelpful! In that case, I contacted them about a transaction which had not happened yet (and which didn't in the end - it was a mix up basically), asking them to block it IF it came through. They refused, saying that once I gave my details to the other party, it was tough ****!

Bum - didn't know this! I've been planning to send them an email alright (and Gillette too) but hadn't got around to it yet.

Are you sure? I have never heard of this happening, is it a new procedure?

Positive, unfortunately :( they are a pain to do. Relatively recent, past couple of months anyway.
