    Remember this from the 90's? The End, it used to be on RTE on late Friday and Saturday nights and was hosted by Sean Moncrief and Barry Murphy. Did a bit of surfing but couldn't find much on it apart from this clip;

    Kind of prototype Apres Match!

    Oh yeah. They used to show old comedies like Police Squad, Fawlty Towers and Reginald Perrin. And Sean Moncreiff used to have a certain amount of hair!

    Yup I remember it. They used to have some strange guests aswell. I remember prefering Moncreif at the time. But in hindsight I think Murphy was probably funnier.

    Was that the show that had a camera over Dublin (Howth I think) and when it appeared on screen with the caption "They're out there" anyone could ring in and be live on TV. IIRC, there used to be a lot of very drunk people singing and slagging off their friends and enemies.

    It was always reassuring to know how many drunk people were out there at any given time.

    I used to love this show, back in the days when I was too young to go to the pub. They used to show great old sitcoms and Moncreif would sometimes bring on his "Auntie Concepta" who would just sit there smiling seductively. She was gorgeous. And yeah some really locked, post-pub people would ring in and talk bollocks. No text in those days!

    That was a great show, they used to show a comedy called "Brass" about
    Northern England class struggles.

    And a cartoon short called "Beastley Behaviour" about the birds and the bees doing the birds and the bees.

    I remember the drunken phone in thing, it used to go "End of Message" after each call.

    They used to have stand-up on it as well. Remember some chap doing imporessions - Hamlet meets Hollywood, with Robert De Niro as Hamlet, and Jack Nicholson as Claudius.

    *Does best Robert De Niro Goodfellas face*
    Hamlet : "You fu** my mother?"

    Claudius "You can't handle the truth that I Fu**** your mother"
