    Hello,
Im going to start my BER training course online soon, and am just looking to see here how peoples experiences of the online course may have been. I also have a question concerning the course exam

    • 3 case study assignment (30%)
    • 15 short answer questions (30%)
    • Practical assessment (25%)
    • Improvements assessment (15%)

What is involved in the improvements section? thanks

the improvements assessment is basically how to advise the client in how to get a better rating... using the information supplied to you...
eg extra insulations, more low energy bulbs, etc...

Just beware that some trainers are in it for the money as with some would be assessors. so research it well and see if the backup and content meets your needs. The course and the software are easy to use but in the real world the examples you will come across will be demanding in terms of calculating volumes and understanding building physics.

Best of luck, there is another course on the way to allow you to rate existing houses.

Check out using the search tool previous BER rating threads and see what we have said about the BER
