Where would one purchase a used ambulance?

    I am looking for a relativly recent Mercedes Sprinter / ford transit ambulance for a camper / race vehicle conversion, where do the the health service sell off their old vehicles?

    THe Merc 814 VARIO makes an excellent convert, the wheelchair beaver tail is handy for lifting tools etc.

    lol, afaik, the hse dont sell off old units, they rather drive them to death and then keep them for spares, the uk would be the best place.

    yes with the weight of the patient lift on the back and the quality of Irish roads - I would stay away from them too. Most of the Ambos I meet are always complaining about the quality of their bus - I dont blame them

    They do sell them off. That's where a lot of the ambulances for the voluntary organisations come from.

    I think you are talking about the DFB, they don't sell on as they have a contract whereby a company take them in in part exchange for a new one. Or something like that.

    Good idea to go to the UK though.
