    Hi

Does anyone think this is legit - was checking out prices on lightroom - and it really annoys me the way companies sell something by digital download at much higher prices in Europe

Lightroom is $299 US for digital download and €300 on the Irish store - for the same product! Anyway thats mini rant over.

I had a quick search through eBay and came across this but it doesnt seem like it could be legit?

    Sellers link

$120 and he sends you a serial code later??

    Im guessing its not

Is there anywhere legit online selling Lightroom to Europe at US prices

    I bought Lightroom through amazon.co.uk

Price was better than the Irish price.

I'd be very very cautious over that ebay sale.

but it doesnt seem like it could be legit?I'm guessing its not.

I'd be suspicious. Nothing stopping the seller flogging the same serial to you and many others.

    Hey,

Just lookin at the ebay sale, and checking through his feedback and previous sales and added to the fact he uses paypal, is a power seller, a lot of positive feedback, it seems very genuine, if it was me and i wanted that software i would bid with confidence.
Of course if you are buying from him, dont just bid for the product straight away, email him, ask the seller a question, anything, just to communicate with the seller for your piece of mind, and that you know when you can expect to receive the code.
Try not to be so shocked at the price, there is a lot of money to be saved using ebay, i buy regularly on it and save a lot of money,

    Best of luck

An educated Google search (by a person of ill-repute) would find serial numbers for free.

I'd imagine the serial number provided by that eBay seller is just as illegal.

Does lightroom not activate back to adobe - if the same serial code was activated twice would this not throw up a red flag?

I know theres crackers and key gens out there for unlocking software - Its possible he's just running a generator, maybe adobe dont track the activations

I wouldn't buy just a serial number. Especially not from ebay.

Buy from a known source - adobe, amazon.co.uk or a shop.

    I was thinking that...

Still, sometimes you see a price, you nearly have to ask:)

Shifting the thread sideways a little, is lightroom worth it considering I have canons DPP software and Photoshop 7 (which I can't get to support my raws directly as the version of ps is too old to work with adobe camera raw)

Adobe products as of CS3 now come with a network enabled license server.

The product is FLEXnet Publisher and is required to run CS3 and if removed CS3 wont start.
    http://www.macrovision.com/products/1156.htm

With this tool adobe had the access to audit illegal licenses even if you don't complete the registration.

would be interesting to see what if any information it sends back to adobe/macrovision....
