I saw Easter eggs for sale in Tesco last Sunday 27th January in South Dublin, is this a record or is it just that they failed to clear last years stock from the shelves? Where do easter eggs originate from? Are they Christian?

There's been easter eggs in my local supervalue for the last week and they even got them in before the pancake stuff that's just arrived. It just goes to show how commercialised religious celebrations have become.

As for where the Easter Eggs come from, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easter_eggs gives a good few ideas on where. It's a mix of various different cultural traditions.

I seen Easter Eggs in Superquinn on Friday the 18th, a big display of them.

Easter is early this year, isn't easter week around St. Patricks day this year so it's only 10 weeks or so. I'd say if you looked back to last year the eggs were available 10 weeks in advance.

Chocolate is chocolate so I wait until after Easter and get them at half price :D As far as Easter eggs and Christianity are concerned, I dont think God has got anything got to do with Easter eggs.
