Laptop Support when using on Lap (Legs) ?

We have a laptop that is used quite a bit at home, and in the evenings it does the rounds between my wife, and daughter going from lap to lap.

Given the usage each evening with the laptop resting on someones legs, I was wondering if there was something available that could be used to sit the laptop on, to allow for better air circulation and cooling as the laptop can get fairly hot.

Any ideas/suggestions?

The Heat is the Battery pack on the underneath. The cooling vents are generally on the back of the laptop or the top sides. So cooling the underneath is not an issue. you could alternatively remove the battery and leave plugged into mains. This will lesson the heat and pro-long the battery life.
