    Hi all,
I commited to but an item yesterday, the p&p charges on the page were listed as 1.95gbp to Ireland (coming from uk)
I proceeded to pay with paypal, but the pay now link sent me to the sellers site and then informed me that the p&p was 15.00gbp.
I sent an email, through ebay, to the seller but they insist the postage costs are stated clearly on the page - I read through the whole listing twice but can find no mention any charge apart from the 1.95, which is mentioned twice!
    What do I do?

    From the listing....

Delivery quoted on our products is for Mainland England, Wales and Scotland only, other areas may attract an additional charge

Thanks, he quite clearly state £1.95 to Ireland. Unfortunately you cannot force the seller to sell to you. If he still insists on increasing the P&P, report him to ebay. He does have a small disclaimer on his listing that states he may add extra. 'Delivery quoted on our products is for Mainland England, Wales and Scotland only, other areas may attract an additional charge'.

He does not have good feedback in my opinion

He replied to my first email with "The listing does advise that delivery to Ireland, the Highlands and off shore islands are charged at £15.00
    "

Another seller who has a mis match of contradictory information

Mainland England, Wales & Scotland = Island of Britain
Scottish highlands is in mainland Scotland = Island of Britain

He has made a total mess of the information on his listing

He does state the extra £15, which is hard to spot

I used the "find" option (ctrl+f) to look for 15.00, after reading down through it - no joy!
I won't be buying anything off him again anytime soon!

A jump of £1.95 for mainland postage to £15 for Channel Islands, Ireland etc deserves reporting to eBay.

Looks like it's part of the image, ctrl+f won't find it.

Don't buy this either. He lists the postage costs to Ireland at the top and bottom of the listing as 1.95, which I'm pretty sure is what eBay will take as the official cost. The fact he has a fairly hidden extra charge listed in a picture can't really hold up. What if your internet connection was slow and didn't load the image? What if you're using a text only browser? He clearly miss-stated the cost of delivery in order to mislead.

Report him to eBay immediately and don't go through with this purchase. Hopefully eBay will remove the listing and you'll be off the hook then.

I've gone through with the purchase, not worth the agro over a couple of euro - don't want the negative feedback.

    €17 is not a couple of €!

He should be getting negatve for misleading potential buyers and he should be reported to ebay

I reported him, for breaching listing policy.
I guess I was a bit stupid in paying, but I panicked (after you pointed out the fine light blue print, dub!) and gave in. It's not the end of the world; I have paid through paypal, so should be able to claim most, if not all, of my money back if things don't work out.

Seller should be made to charge postage as outlined in the listing.

Didn't click the 'Show all available' button earlier. Sod him. £1.95 is what you should be paying.

Hello - I am sorry to say but you are incorrect. The listing clearly states towards the top of the page the following:-

PLEASE NOTE:- Delivery Quoted is for Mainland UK ONLY and delivery to the Highlands, Islands, Isles, Northern Ireland and Ireland will cost £15

    Postage costs: £1.95
    Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded
    Service to United Kingdom

I do not beleive Ireland is in the United Kindom.

Down the left hand side of the listing is a Delivery Image which clearly states:-

PLEASE NOTE: Delivery Quoted is for Mainland UK only and delivery to the Highlands, Islands, Isles, Northern Ireland and Ireland will be charged at £15

Under the SHIPPING section of our text in the listing we also quote:-

Delivery quoted on our products is for Mainland England, Wales and Scotland only, other areas may attract an additional charge

If you do not wish to pay the delivery charge - We can cancel the order.

    Please let us know

Send him the screen grabs from page 1. He is an idiot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,651 ✭✭✭Captain Slow IRL

    I did, his response:

I am fully aware how it appears on the web page and I actually know
word for word what the listing says

    Regards

    Colin Blake

So he knows what it says, but denies that it says what it says. What an idiot. Tell him to feck off, give you back your money and report him to eBay for being a lying ****.

Tell him to view the listing on WWW.EBAY.IE

He may notice a difference then. If he doesn't he's a complete idiot.
