    Hi,
I inquired about this from Chorus/NTL last week and was given a number of differing prices. The sales guy kinda fudged the issue by insisting on pricing each item separately and inconsistently. I wanted to know how much the 3 pack bundle cost monthly. My best estimate is €76 in or around. It has Digital TV,Local and land line calls, and 6m/512k broadband internet.

Has anyone else out there got this package and what is your opinion of it. Is it as good as it sounds or has it serious shortcomings. A guy called to install mine but the line was not live and taps were missing.I am in Dublin 6w and with Eircom at present, on 2meg/128k broadband.TIA,John

For all 3 ?, cant be right, its between €75 and €90 at least. Its the quality of the service and any unforeseen problems that I am concerned about.....like the call costs , or if the free calls are only available during off peak. The NTLChorus site is of little value in understanding exactly what the MAX pack does and does not offer.

If I were you I would think very carefully before moving to Chorus / NTL. So long as nothing goes wrong you are fine but once it does you are truly screwed.

You have to experience their "customer service" to believe that it can be that bad. I won't bore you with the details but waiting 45 minutes to talk to someone who then tells me that they not cant but won't help left me with no choice but to go elsewhere.

I currently have broadband and phone with smart, I've never had any sort of a problem and couldn't reccomend them highly enough.

I've got 6mb broadband, the 'any time' phone pack, and digital tv with movies and a dvr for €127.51 per month.

Never had a problem and I find it pretty good value in comparison with my previous set up of Eircom & Sky

Here is what I got - Digital Max, Sport and Movies, Multiroom and 6MB Broadband. All together €114.47. Next week there'll be a guy installing the DVR thingy.

On a separate matter, UPC sales guys have been bugging me thousand times over the last 6 months trying get me sign up to their telephony service. I'm not interested, happy enough with Blueface.

Thanks for the interesting comments folks.........I am with Euphony for phone at present and eircom for BB/line rental with NTL for digital TV.Most of my calls are local/national. Ntl were quoting around €76 for the same service but I would loose my Eircom phone line and have only one phone in the house. The only concern there is that its expensive if I need to go back to Eircom for some reason .
    Costs/mnth
    Eircom BB = 32
    Line rental = 25
    NTL Dig TV = 30
    Euphony PH = 10
    _________________
    Total €97

Now the 2meg/256k BB is the weak point so I may get the NTL 6meg/512k BB.
Then I have a reasonably good setup perhaps.?

I think its called the Max Pack....
    6meg BB
    Digital TV
Telephone Anytime.....all national and local calls for €10 per month I thought.
I got prices before Christmas which came to €85, but now there is no mention of it.

is the basic package any good,

1MB is good enough for me but what about NTL as a service provider?
Its great not to have eircom line rental to pay for!!!

well as long as you dont have a alrm provider through eircom i.e phonewatch ( as it is not compatible ) and you dont mind keeping your phone near your pc ( as it is plugged into the modem ) then service was just as good as any other phone .
plus you do get a new cordless digital phone free

If you really want to get the triple play but want to keep your Phonewatch for €256 you can have a sim card fitted, it's called Eirkink

I have just sat in for my whole day off waiting for NTL Chorus to come and set me up with broadband, tv and telephone package. They talk the talk but clearly still cant walk the walk. Put me in for an AM call. Put down a PM call for the techie. Rang them and they said they'd get on to him straight away and he'd text me in advance of calling. No Call, he called to my home when I went to get milk (god forbid on my day off) and fecked off. Supervisor refused to take my call. Seriously nothing has changed with this shower. Will be sticking with Eircom thanks very much!

Why did you go out to get milk? That was very silly! Surely you could of survived the day without milk or got some milk the day before? You have only yourself to blame. I know it's a pain in the ass waiting for those guys to turn up when you want them. You have to be on red alert all day waiting for them, such is life. I hope the milk tasted good!
