Poor reception with indoor tv aerial

I've bought a new 15" tv. It replaces an old portable with indoor aerial that had perfect reception on the 4 irish channels. I can't get anything better than snowy picture despite buying a "one for all" aerial at €50 from Argos. Anyone have any suggestions?

Get a proper aerial. Those one for all aerials are terrible.

It could be stuck in the attic though. One solution if you don't want an aerial outside.
